POWER OVER ETHERNET  ( POE )

power-over-ethernet icon.png

Power over Ethernet is the technology, in which along with the data, DC power is also carried on the Ethernet cables, Giganet cables and Patchcords are used to power up the networked devices, like IP Phone, IP cameras, Access points etc.

The new IEEE 802.3bt standard increases the maximum PoE power available mainly by utilizing all four pairs delivering up to 90W to end point devices.

The 90W PoE; IEEE 802.3bt technology drives high-power infrastructure for smart building systems, safe cities, thin clients, and a lot more. Facility managers and building owners can adopt the standard to future-proof their PoE networks. The outcome for them is lower installation and wiring costs.

IEEE 802.3bt applications include Smart Building Systems With PoE-Powered LED Lighting , Safe Cities With PTZ Cameras , High-Performance Wireless Access Points , digital Signage , Intercoms, TVs, and Video Conferencing etc .
